The third annual "George Almond" Officer of the Year awards banquet was held at the Embassy Suites in Cary on February 21, 2009. As part of the festivities a live auction was conducted by Ben Farrell to raise money for Cary Crime Stoppers and the Police Benevolent Foundation. Ben is a full time law enforcement officer with the Morrisville Police Department and is also a professional auctioneer. The auction was a tremendous success and Ben has agreed to return for the upcoming banquet. Ben was recently featured as part of the "Ask Anything" series on WRAL. The Cary chapter is looking forward to the continued relationship with him.
